Chemical Peels

Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin. the most common types of checmical peels for acne treatment are glycolic and salycilic acid peels. The chemical peel is used to treat acne by reducing the amount of dead skin cells (scale) on the surface of the skin.

Although chemical peels are good at removing scale, it does not address two other major causes of acne, acne bacteria and overactive oil glands.
