Types of Lasers

There are many different lasers on the market that are FDA approved for laser acne treatment. Each of these lasers has had to pass rigorous safety and efficacy requirements mandated by the FDA in order for the manufacturers to market the laser for acne reduction.

It's important to understand that even though many types of lasers are FDA approved for acne treatment, the methodology in which they fight acne differs from laser to laser. Just like prescription medications, a laser that may be right for one patient may not be right for another.

If you know the name of the laser you would like to research with the FDA, go to www.fda.gov and search the manufacturer and model number to view the FDA paperwork on the particular equipment.
